As 2022 comes to an end we can’t help but look back at everything that we have achieved together because wow, what a year it has been! To think that Step App was just an idea at the beginning of the year and now it is a reality with a rapidly growing community is astounding.

Our CEO, Kirill Volgin, has been instrumental in creating a robust and dedicated team who have brought the concept of Step App to life. Here is a short note to our community from our CEO, Kirill Volgin: 

“As we look to the new year, I have taken a moment to reflect on the year that has passed and there are three words that are at the front of my mind: robust, agile and attentive. In the past year I have witnessed our team step up to any challenge, obstacle and task that was presented to them with these qualities: robustness, agility and attentiveness. We have been able to grow exponentially because of their mental fortitude and each person’s remarkable expertise in their field. With a team like this, I can assure you all that anything is possible. Not even the sky is our limit. 

But the team has not been the only contributing factor to Step App’s success, you are part of this story too. Together, we have created something incredible. Our mission was never only about creating pioneering products, it is also about building a community and fostering lasting connections. I am happy to say, as we end 2022, we have achieved this. Not only have we launched our main app globally, but we have also built a community of over 500,000 people and this is only the beginning. We are grateful for every one of you and are humbled by your overwhelmingly positive support. 

We have hit some major milestones this year and we have you to thank for these achievements. As we step into 2023, we have set even more ambitious goals because we are confident that together we can achieve them. Step App will continue to make decisions, implement changes, and innovate to reach our goals using a customer-focused approach. We have been and always will be committed to putting our community’s interests first. 

There is already work in the pipeline for 2023. Some of the things that we are prioritising in the coming year are ecosystem advancement, releasing new in-app features, rebalancing the economy, launching a marketplace for both in-game and real world items, onboarding new projects via our launchpad and forging new partnerships. Every step of the way we will listen to your feedback and ask for your input.

KEY MILESTONES:

• We raised $2,750,000 and were the largest IDO on DAO Maker 
• FITFI was listed on 6 exchanges including OKX, Huobi, Bybit, Gate and Crypto.com on the first day of our token launch and we are now also listed on Bithumb
• Within 2 weeks, FITFI reached over $4.2 billion in volume
• Over a million people registered to access the app before it was even launched
• Usain Bolt became our global brand ambassador and Untold Music Festival became one of our brand partners

Let’s take a look at what we have achieved in 2022.

STEP ECOSYSTEM

This year we have been developing multiple products that exist within the Step Ecosystem including: Step App, Step Launch, Step Ex, Step Network, Step Scan and Step Bridge. Step App is the first app to be created on our Step Network blockchain.

STEP APP

Prior to our main app launch on December 1st, 2022 we had over 1,000,000 people join our community in anticipation of the launch. This tremendous inflow of supporters gave us even more momentum to launch our main app. In less than a month after launch, we have already had over 115,000 app downloads. To kick-off our app launch and celebrate this milestone we hosted the first edition of the Step App Conference in Tokyo, Japan. Since our launch 3 weeks ago, we have already rolled out new features and multiple app updates as we continue to improve our app for our users. Our newest features are The Stats Reroll for your in-game SNEAKs, The Leaderboard and In-App Purchasing using energy, KCAL, or COAL.

STEP LAUNCH

We developed our launchpad and successfully launched our first project, PRIMAL, on Step Launch. The launch was an absolute success and the IDO hard cap for this launch reached completion minutes after going live.

FITFI

In April, we had our FITFI token listed on 6 different exchanges on the first day of our token launch. Then, in less than 2 weeks, FITFI hit over $4.2 billion in trading volume. Now, we have over 55,000 active, unique stakers and a token holder base with over 119,000 active wallets on Step Network and 63,000 on Avalanche C-Chain. FITFI is also now listed on OKX, Huobi, Bybit, Gate, Crypto.com, Bithumb and our very own exchange, Step Ex.

KCAL

When we initially launched the app, all in-game actions that required KCAL, such as opening chests, were fixed. However, we have changed this and now the price of KCAL will be elastic which means that the cost of our in-game actions will move with the market. We made this change to bring even more economic value and gains to our KCAL token holders. Also, to maintain a healthy game economy, we have continued to burn all of our KCAL as we have done since the launch of our token.

PARTNERSHIPS

It is only our first year and we already have some incredible partnerships under our belt. This year we forged partnerships with some of the most influential names in their respective industries. Usain Bolt, the world’s fastest man, became our global brand ambassador and Global Titans, one of the largest boxing events, became one of our key partners. We also partnered with the Untold Music Festival, held annually in Romania, with a crowd of over 330,000 people.

EVENTS

Our Step App Conference on December 1st was an absolute success. The night started with keynote speeches from industry leaders including Usain Bolt and Kazuto Taguchi who gave their insights on topics such as the intersection of the fitness and Web3 industry and how this is changing the landscape and paving a new path for the future of fitness. At this event we were able to make new connections and meet people from our community who shared insightful feedback with us that we have been working to implement. We closed the night with performances from global artists including AK-69, DJ Usain Bolt, Fehrplay, and DJ Martin.

WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN 2023

We will be building off of all of our achievements in 2023 and we are already working on things to make this possible. Some of the key pillars we will be focusing on in the coming year include ecosystem development, strengthening our game economy, rolling out new product features, engaging in impactful partnerships and creating greater intersections between the physical and digital world through our products and innovation. Announcements will be rolling out from as early as January. Our wheels don’t stop turning, so stay tuned, because 2023 is going to be even better than 2022!
