REFEREE: When you enter using the referral link, you have 24 hours from the moment you sign up to enter the referral code in the profile section in-app. A message will appear to let you know that the referral was successful.REFERRER: After the referee successfully enters the code and starts running, the referrer will receive a % of KCAL from each of their friends’ runs. You can earn infinitely, but the percentage you earn remains fixed to the tier you are in. More info on the different tiers below.

There are 12 Tiers in Step App’s Referral program. The standard % of KCAL a referrer can earn is fixed in Tier 1, but you can increase that percentage.When you refer a friend you will automatically start earning 0.5% of KCAL they earn on each of their runs. If you choose to move up the tiers, you will progressively earn more KCAL. At the highest tier, for each one of your friends’ runs you will earn 20% of KCAL.
Yes, a referrer can increase the % of KCAL they earn for a particular user by paying an extra KCAL fee. Each person you refer to will have their own tier system. When you pay the KCAL fee to tier-up, you will earn a higher percentage of KCAL on a particular referee’s runs. Upgrading the tier level for one of your referees, will not upgrade it for other referees. There is no limit to how many referees you can increase the tier of. For example, if you have 3 referees you may have Referee 1 on Tier 3, Referee 2 on Tier 6 and Referee 3 on Tier 1.
Yes! The KCAL rates for each tier are elastic and move with the market. Check the latest rates directly in the app.
You can only find the tiers interface available in the profile section of the app, when you have referred someone successfully. Inside this section, a list of all your successful referrals will be available. For each referral, the tier they are in is displayed next to their name, plus you can find the % of KCAL that you will earn on their runs.
For each individual referral, you check out their unique referral profile. Inside that profile you find details on the SNEAK they have, the amount of KCAL you earned from their runs and a lifetime graph.
Click to to the individual referral’s profile you want to upgrade, there you will find a button ‘tier’ up. Confirm the tier upgrade and the KCAL fee. Done, it’s that easy!
