Yoga Session With Step App x Yoga by Celine

Did you know that yoga can be beneficial to athletes?

We recently hosted our second fitness class livestream, guided by yoga instructor Celine Cooper who helped us unwind, destress and actively recover from our back to back days of movement.. 

Celine Cooper is a yoga instructor based in Trinidad and Tobago with a focus on flexibility, strength, mobility, and breath work. 

The benefits of yoga for athletes

Yoga, renowned for its profound impact on physical and mental well-being, holds immense potential for athletes seeking to enhance their performance and overall fitness. Our session with Celine shed light on the remarkable advantages of integrating yoga into athletic training. From increasing flexibility and improving core strength to enhancing focus and fostering inner balance, yoga offers a holistic approach to bolstering athletic prowess. Yoga can also help increase strength, balance, and stability. Last but certainly not least, it is also a fantastic way to improve breathing and reduce stress. 

After hearing about the amazing benefits of yoga, we couldn’t be more excited to get this class started!

The yoga class

We kicked off the class with some breathwork while in a seated position, then moving into full body stretches. During the livestream, Celine guided us through a series of dynamic poses carefully curated to amplify the benefits for athletes, such as poses like downward facing dog, forward fold, mountain pose, plank, upward facing dog and so much more! 

After a good stretch, we ended the session in corpse pose and did some breathwork to help us relax even further.
